The Disintegrator

Aerosion Ltd. has created a unique technology called the Disintegrator, an innovative method of grinding materials into fine powders. The Disintegrator uses rapidly spinning wheels to launch and fracture materials. The resulting high energy impact fracture uses less energy than competing technologies, while producing finer particles at a lower overall cost.

High-speed motor and bearing technology spins contra-rotating wheels; one wheel launching the particles at high velocities at an impact wheel rotating at high-speed in the opposite direction.

The high velocity collisions created by the Disintegrator shatter the particles between material and crystal interfaces, liberating differing minerals from each other in a method previously thought of as economically impossible. As a result of the Disintegrator’s high impact fracture process, larger surface areas are efficiently created that benefit other industrial processes.
